Big cities and quaint historic towns top the list of most popular places to visit in the United States, according to the travel site, TripAdvisor.

New York, Chicago and Charleston, South Carolina were chosen as the top travel destinations in the United States by millions of TripAdvisor users who voted.

New York topped the list for the second year in a row and Charleston was one of several destination in the South to make the list.

TripAdvisor uses information from reviews of hotels, attractions and restaurants over a 12-month period to come up with its list.

Here’s a look at the Top 25 most popular travel destinations in the U.S., according to TripAdvisor.
