U.S. servicemen are participating in a joint operation with Cambodian military forces in an assistance mission in a remote province.

The U.S. Pacific Command says about 60 Air Force personnel are taking part in Operation Pacific Angel in Koh Kong Province. The operation provides medical, dental, veterinary and engineering assistance to citizens in the area.

The command says the four-year-old Operation Pacific Angel is part of a series of joint and combined humanitarian assistance efforts led by military units of the host nation, local non-governmental organizations and Pacific-based U.S. airmen.

The current mission is scheduled to run through Friday.
