An Iranian national who had operated a business in California has been sentenced to more than four years in jail for attempting to export missile components and radio equipment to Iran.
Davoud Baniameri pleaded guilty in May to two felony charges of conspiring to export goods, technology and defense articles to Iran without a license or approval from the U.S. government.
Officials say none of the items ever reached Iran.
Two other individuals were also charged in the plot. Andro Telemi, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Iran, is awaiting trial. The Justice Department says Syed Majid Mousavi, an Iranian citizen, remains a fugitive and is believed to be in Iran.
Baniameri was arrested in September 2009.
