Japanese officials said Sunday the death toll from Typhoon Talas has risen to at least 13 people. Authorities say about 43 people are missing.

Talas made landfall Saturday on the island of Shikoku, slowly moving north to Honshu island.

The Japan Meteorological Agency said Sunday Talas is moving into the Sea of Japan.

The agency has warned that because of the storm's slow movement, Talas' heavy rains and strong winds are likely to continue over the islands, causing more flooding and landslides.
