Texas Congressman Ron Paul is a champion for limited government and low taxes. The Republican believes that “radical” politicians have spent too much money and created a too huge government bureaucracy.

This campaign season was Congressman Paul's third run for the presidency, twice as a Republican and once as a Libertarian. At the 2012 Republican National Convention, Paul received 190 votes from the attending delegates, thanks to his small, but steadfast, following.

His stance against federal regulation on issues such as seat belts and illicit drugs emphasizes his desire for small government.

He did not support the U.S.-led war in Iraq, and he does not support military escalations with Syria or Iran. He says the U.S. must quit, in his words, “being a policeman all over the world.”

Paul worked as an obstetrician and a military doctor before joining Congress.
