Fliers Exhort Violence Against Academics at Texas University

Fliers posted on campus at Texas State University exhort “vigilante squads to go arrest and torture those deviant university leaders spouting off all this diversity garbage,” according to the Austin Statesman.

“Now that our man Trump is elected and Republicans own both the senate and the house time to organize tar & feather …” the fliers threaten.

Texas State University (TSU) police confirmed to the Statesman that they are investigating.  The news outlet reported that several fliers were found on campus.

TSU President Denise M. Trauth wrote a letter saying,  “We know that those who are part of our university community have different opinions and that, in this time of transition in our national leadership, members of our community are expressing their thoughts and concerns.

“Discourse is fundamental to the academic enterprise, and this university strives to protect it.

“As Bobcats our aim should be to better understand that which causes divisions among us and to work toward strengthening our bond as a university community. Constructive dialogue is the best way to achieve this goal.
