Japanese share prices ended lower Friday, while the dollar slipped against the yen.

Tokyo's Nikkei index lost two-thirds of a percent , to close at 9,492.

In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 80.68 yen, down two-tenths of a yen from late Thursday.

The Taipei market gained six-tenths of a percent , to close at 9,046.
