Nigerian authorities say gunmen killed a prison warden in the northern state of Bauchi.

They say Ibrahim Ali Figidi was gunned down when he answered the door at his home Wednesday.

Authorities say the attack is similar to others carried out by the Boko Haram sect.

The radical group is believed to be behind Tuesday bomb attacks that killed 11 people in the northeastern city of Maiduguri.

Last week, another multiple bomb attack in that city killed more than 12 people at a bar hours after President Goodluck Jonathan was sworn in. Police also blamed Boko Haram for those blasts.
