Netherlands Transit Strike Hits Rotterdam

Public transit workers in Rotterdam, the Netherlands are staging a 24 hour strike Thursday to protest cuts to the transit agency.

Rotterdam is the third Dutch city hit by a day long transit work stoppage this week.

On Wednesday, bus, tram, and metro workers stayed off the job in The Hague, protesting $175 million in spending cuts for buses and trams.

Workers in Amsterdam held a similar strike on Tuesday.
