Queen Elizabeth on Saturday will honor British actor Colin Firth, who portrayed her father King George VI in the movie “The King's Speech.”

The Oscar winner is one of hundreds receiving one of the queen's birthday honors. Firth will be named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, or CBE. Other awards include knighthoods, the highest honor, along with Officers of the Order of the British Empire and Members of the Order of the British Empire .

Firth won acclaim for his role as the queen's father as he worked to overcome stuttering to make a radio address at the beginning of World War II.

Robert Edwards, who won a Nobel prize for his work on in-vitro fertilization, will receive a knighthood, while golfer Lee Westwood will receive an OBE.

Queen Elizabeth celebrated her 85th birthday in April.
