Authorities in southern Afghanistan say a roadside bomb has ripped through a vehicle, killing 15 people, including eight children.
Officials say one person was wounded in the blast Saturday in Kandahar province.
Meanwhile, officials in the eastern Afghan province of Laghman say police investigating an explosion there were hit by a second bomb Saturday, killing two police officers and wounding nine people.
Elsewhere in eastern Afghanistan, police say a suicide bomber has killed at least three people, including two police officers in Khost province. At least 12 people were wounded in the attack outside of police headquarters.
Authorities say the chief of an Afghan commando unit was one of the police officers killed.
And during fighting in the south Saturday, NATO says an insurgent attack has killed an international service member.
