An anonymous bidder has agreed to some $2.6 million for lunch with billionaire investor Warren Buffett.
The winning bid at the annual charity auction broke the record set last year by a little more than $100. The proceeds go to the Glide Foundation, which provides social services to the poor and homeless in San Francisco.
The winner's identity was not released.
The winner of the auction usually gets to lunch with Buffett at New York's Smith & Wollensky steakhouse and has free rein to steer the table talk.
