Around 150 senior government officials and business executives are attending a secretive gathering known as the Bilderberg meetings at the Swiss resort of St. Moritz.
The official website of the Bilderberg meetings says its annual conference ending Sunday mainly dealt with challenges for growth in Europe, the Middle East and China, with topics including the role of emerging economies, social networks and security.
Among those attending are EU President Herman Van Rompuy, former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Google's Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, and HSBC Holdings Group Chairman Douglas Flint.
The meetings have for years attracted attention from conspiracy theorists who question the group's off-the-record tradition given the high profile of many of its participants. Since the organization was formed in 1953, no resolutions are proposed, no votes taken, and no policy statements or post-meeting press releases are issued.
