European stock markets were slightly higher in midday trading Monday.
London’s Financial Times 100 index was up nearly three-tenths of a percent to 5,782. The CAC-40 in Paris edged up two-tenths of a percent to 3,813. And the DAX in Frankfurt rose slightly at 7,071.
The S&P futures contract was up three points, indicating a higher opening for U.S. markets.
In Asia, Tokyo’s Nikkei index dropped seven-tenths of a percent to close at 9,448.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose four-tenths percent to end at 22,508.
Gold was trading at $1,526.05 an ounce.
The U.S. dollar was flat against other major currencies.
