Mexican police on Wednesday found the dismembered bodies of two bodyguards who worked for the governor of the state of Nuevo Leon.
Authorities believe a drug cartel killed Governor Rodrigo Medina's bodyguards.
A message threatening the governor was found with the bodies.
Governor Medina called the killings “cowardly.” He told the media that “no message, no threat will make us stop in this fight” against organized crime.
The bodies were found in the state capital city of Monterrey. Nuevo Leon has been the scene of violent turf wars between rival drug cartels the Zetas and the Gulf.
