A 24-hour public transportation strike is being held in the Czech Republic Thursday.

Trains will not be running, and other transportation in the capital, Prague, and other towns has stopped or been reduced.

A coalition of transport unions is protesting several proposed government reforms in the areas of health care, pensions and taxes.

The strike over the planned changes was initially set for Monday, but a court ruled it illegal because a three-day notification had not been given.
