Japanese share prices ended slightly higher Monday, while the dollar edged up against the yen.

Tokyo's Nikkei index rose a fraction of a percent to close at 9,354.

In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 80.18 yen, up a tenth of a yen from late Friday.

The Taipei market fell 1.2 percent to close at 8,531.
