Iraqi officials say a series of bomb attacks in the capital, Baghdad, has killed one person and wounded at least 25 others.
Authorities say the deadly attack happened Wednesday when a car bomb exploded in the western part of the city, killing a passer-by. At least nine people were wounded in that blast.
Another four bomb attacks, some targeting police patrols in Baghdad, wounded at least 18 people.
The attacks follow a pair of car bomb blasts Tuesday in the city of Diwaniyah, about 150 kilometers south of the capital, which killed at least 25 people.
On Monday, a roadside bomb wounded seven people when it exploded near a French embassy convoy in Baghdad.
Violence in Iraq is down sharply from its peak in 2006 and 2007. However, a new spate of attacks, including those against government officials and security forces, has raised concerns about a possible increase in violence as the United States prepares to withdraw its forces at the end of the year.
