Nigerian police say they have arrested three people in connection with the alleged ritual killing of a one-year old girl in Ondo State.

A police official says the suspects confessed to the murder of the toddler following their arrest in the Igbokoda area, where she lived.

Police spokesman Adeniran Aremu said Tuesday the suspects broke into the family's house at night and kidnapped the child while she slept with her mother.

Police later located the toddler's mutilated body in some nearby brush.
