Authorities say two people have been killed and many others injured in a collision involving an Amtrak passenger train and a tractor-trailer in the western U.S. state of Nevada.
Amtrak says the truck drove into the side of the train Friday on a rural highway near Reno, Nevada. The impact created a massive burst of flames and smoke.
Officials say 204 passengers and 14 crew members were on board the train, which was traveling from Chicago to Emeryville, California.
U.S. federal investigators say they are looking into the circumstances of the accident, including the truck driver's records and whether the railroad lights and crossing gates were working.
