U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will travel to Hungary and Lithuania at the end of June to promote human rights and democracy in the region.
A State Department statement released Friday says Clinton will travel to Hungary June 29 where she will meet with Prime Minister Viktor Orban and civil society leaders.
She will also take part in the dedication of the Lantos Institute, named after Hungarian-born U.S. lawmaker Tom Lantos.
In Lithuania, where Clinton will stay from June 30 to July 1, the top U.S. diplomat will meet with President Dalia Grybauskaite, Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius and other Lithuanian officials.
The secretary also will participate in a gathering focused on women's empowerment.
