American entertainer Jerry Lewis was rushed to a hospital Friday, just moments before he was to take to the stage in Sydney, Australia for a benefit show.
The 85-year-old performer is in Australia to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Australia. Lewis is the long-time chairman of the U.S. Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, which is separate from the Australian organization.
Doctors said Lewis was simply exhausted and is feeling better after resting in his hotel room overnight. He has canceled the rest of his Sydney tour, but will return to the stage next week for the Melbourne leg of his trip.
