A Vietnamese government report released Friday says the country's inflation rate, already one of the world's highest, rose again in June to almost 21 percent.

The General Statistics office said inflation in June alone hit 20.8 percent from a year ago. Inflation for all of last year was 11.5 percent.

The report said food prices are the key driver, rising more than 22 percent in the first half of this year, compared with the same period in 2010.

The government said earlier this month that it hoped to contain inflation to 15 percent this year.
