Authorities in northern Afghanistan say a bicycle bomb has exploded in a bazaar, killing 10 people, including a police officer.

Officials said Saturday 24 people, including five women and a policeman, were wounded in the blast late Friday in the Khanabad district of Kunduz province.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosion.

Militants have frequently targeted the Afghan police and other government employees in their near decade-long insurgency.
