Oil Prices Surge on Signs of US Growth

Here are the prices of some key commodities traded in New York on Tuesday:

Crude oil prices gained almost $2 to close at $96.89 per barrel, after a report showed the U.S. manufacturing sector picking up momentum.

Coffee futures advanced almost 6 cents to finish at $2.69 per pound.

Copper prices rose almost 5 cents to $4.34 a pound.

Cocoa prices gained $91 to finish the day's trading at $3,228 a ton.

In Chicago trading, wheat prices rose 23 cents to close at $6.36 a bushel.

Rice prices advanced 38 cents to $15.29 a hundredweight.
