Officials in Indian-controlled Kashmir say suspected rebels have attacked a police station, wounding nine officers.
Authorities say the militants first set off grenades outside the station in the town of Sopore, about 35 kilometers northwest of Srinagar. The attackers then set off another blast when officers came outside to investigate.
Four of the officers were seriously wounded.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
Muslim separatists in Indian Kashmir have been fighting for independence from India or a merger with Pakistan since 1989. More than 60,000 people have been killed in the conflict.
Kashmir is divided between India and Pakistan and claimed in full by both.
