Police in southern Afghanistan say three Afghan police officers have been killed in a bomb blast in Kandahar city.
They say three other officers and three civilians were also wounded in Sunday's explosion.
Elsewhere, NATO says three of its service members also were killed in separate incidents – two in insurgent attacks and one in a bomb blast.
In other violence, police in western Farah province say they have recovered the remains of at least six deminers abducted last week. The six were part of a group of 32 mine clearance workers kidnapped in Bala Buluk district. The fate of the other deminers was not immediately clear.
Also in the west, Afghan media said the head of Moqor district in Badghis province was killed and at least three other people were wounded when their vehicle drove over a land mine. The wounded included the head of the district education department.
