Japan’s Nikkei Makes Slight Gains

Japanese markets closed slightly higher Thursday, while the U.S. dollar is higher against the Japanese yen.

Tokyo's Nikkei index gained a fraction of one percent to finish at 10,010.

In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 78.82 yen, a gain of a fraction a yen from Wednesday.

The Taipei market finished its trading session at 8,717, a gain of just over one-tenth of one percent .
