Asian stock markets closed higher Friday.
Tokyo’s Nikkei index gained more than one percent , to close at 10,132.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index jumped nearly three percent , to end at 22,445.
Elsewhere, share prices were higher in Shanghai, Sydney, Mumbai, Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, Wellington, Taipei and Seoul. Stocks in Kuala Lumpur and Manila slipped slightly.
The U.S. dollar was quoted at 78.53 yen, up a quarter of a yen from late Thursday.
Gold was trading at $1,589.70 an ounce.
