Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos says the United States fully supports Greece and the new bailout from the European Union and International Monetary Fund.
Venizelos met in Washington Monday with U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and IMF chief Christine Legarde.
Venizelos gave few details on his talks, but he called his meetings interesting and positive. He said a Greek return to economic health depends a lot on Greece implementing reforms and getting results.
The EU and IMF approved another $155 billion bailout for Greece last week after last year's $160 billion loan failed to bring about any major improvements in the Greek economy.
The new bailout comes with voluntary loans from private investors to help Greece avoid defaulting on its debt.
