U.S. President Barack Obama is scheduled Monday to address the annual conference of the Hispanic group, the National Council of La Raza, in Washington.

La Raza, a leading Hispanic civil rights organization, expects 25,000 people to attend the 4-day conference and Latino family expo.

Mr. Obama’s address follows a recent White House-hosted Hispanic policy conference, months of intense outreach to Hispanic voters and a big push on immigration.

La Raza is the largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States.

The U.S. Census Bureau says the Hispanic population in the U.S. passed 50 million earlier this year.
