European stock prices are mostly lower in midday trading Tuesday.
London’s Financial Times index is down less than one-tenth of one percent. The CAC-40 in Paris is down six-tenths of one percent, and trading on the DAX index in Frankfurt is virtually unchanged.
In New York, the S&P futures contract is up three points, indicating a higher opening.
Tokyo’s Nikkei index gained almost one-half of a percent to close at 10,098.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose one and one-quarter percent to end at 22,572.
Gold is trading at $1,611.15 an ounce, down from Monday’s record highs.
The dollar is trading lower against other major currencies.
