Tokyo Market Scores Gains as Dollar, Gold Slip

Japanese share prices were higher Tuesday, while the dollar lost more ground against the yen.

Tokyo's Nikkei index gained almost half of one percent , to close at 10,098.

In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 78.13 yen, down one-sixth of a yen from late Monday.

Gold was trading at $1,610.00 an ounce, down from record highs on Monday.
