Hundreds of deaf Sri Lankans took to the streets of the capital Friday to demand equal rights and equal access to education, jobs, and health care.

The protesters held a demonstration outside the main railroad station in Colombo to highlight their plight.

Sri Lanka is still struggling to return to normalcy after a 25-year brutal civil war that ended in 2009.
