Tokyo Markets Up, Dollar Flat

Japanese share prices ended higher Friday, while the dollar was flat against the yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index gained half a percent , to close at 9,868. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 80.60 yen, nearly unchanged from late Thursday. The Taipei market gained one percent , to close at 8,740.
