Here are the prices of some key commodities traded in New York on Wednesday:
Crude oil prices soared $3.59 to close at $82.89 a barrel.
Coffee prices edged up a fraction of a cent to finish at $2.35 a pound.
Copper prices slid 8 cents to end at $3.89 per pound.
Cocoa futures lost $59 to finish the day's trading at $2,847 per ton.
In Chicago, wheat prices rose 13 cents to end at $6.85 a bushel.
Rice prices were up 18 cents to close at $16.95 per hundredweight.
