Officials in the central U.S. city of Indianapolis say an outdoor concert stage at the Indiana State Fair has collapsed, killing at least three people and injuring more than a dozen.
Witnesses say a rainstorm swept through the fair Saturday night causing the rigging supporting the stage to collapse.
A country music group was preparing to perform before the accident occurred.
State and country fairs are widely popular across the United States, attracting tens of thousands of followers over several days each year, usually in late summer.
The fairs showcase agriculture and livestock, music, rides, talent demonstrations, and food.
