U.S. Poetry Competition Crowns Winner

Organizers of a national poetry competition in the U.S. say a team from western city of Denver has been crowned this year's winner.

Denver's Slam Nuba took home top honors in the Poetry Slam finals held Saturday night in Boston,Massachusetts after competing against three other teams. The other finalists were Nuyorican Poets Cafe from New York City, Writing Wrongs from Columbus, Ohio and Providence Poetry Slam from Providence, Rhode Island.

Judges scored the poets on a scale of zero to 10 after they performed live before an audience.

The Poetry Slam is a combination of spoken word and performance art.

The competition moves to Charlotte,North Carolina in 2012.
