A Kuwaiti-based food supplier has pleaded not guilty in U.S. federal court to charges of fraud in connection with multi-billion-dollar contracts with the U.S. Army.
The Public Warehousing Company, also known as Agility, says it welcomes the opportunity to have its name cleared by an impartial jury.
The company says the U.S. Justice Department has criminalized a civil contract dispute. It says U.S. officials approved Agility's prices and business practices for seven years.
U.S. federal prosecutors accuse Agility of various acts of fraud, including overcharging the Army to supply food to U.S troops in Iraq and Kuwait.
