Japanese share prices ended higher Tuesday, while the dollar fell against the yen.

Tokyo's Nikkei index gained two-tenths of one percent to close at 9,107.

In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 76.82 yen, down a fraction (0.01 yen)) from late Monday.

The Taipei market lost a quarter of a percent to close at 7,799.
