European stock prices are mixed in midday trading Wednesday.
London's Financial Times index is down nearly one-half of one percent. The CAC-40 in Paris is up over three-quarters of one percent, and trading on the DAX index in Frankfurt is down over one-quarter of one percent.
In New York, the S&P futures contract is up four points, indicating a higher opening.
Tokyo's Nikkei index lost just over one-half of one percent to finish at 9,057.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained nearly four-tenths of one percent to finish the day's trading at 20,289.
Gold is trading at $1,791.45 an ounce.
The dollar is trading lower against other major currencies.
