Tropical Storm Harvey has gained strength in the Atlantic Ocean and is threatening to bring high winds and strong rain to parts of Central America.
Tropical storm warnings or watches have been issued for the Bay Islands of Honduras, the coast of Belize, Guatemala and Mexico.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center said late Friday the storm was moving west at about 80 kilometers per hour.
The Miami-based center said the storm could cause rains that produce “life-threatening flash floods and mudslides, especially over higher terrain.”
