Forces loyal to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi are preventing about 35 foreign journalists from venturing outside of their hotel in Tripoli.

Pro-Gadhafi forces have not allowed the journalists to leave the Rixos hotel for at least four days, although much of Tripoli appears to be under rebel control.

Some reporters have hung banners outside of windows, with the words “TV” and “do not shoot” written on them. They say snipers are near the hotel.

Some journalists say water and other basic supplies in the hotel are getting low.
