Japan’s Nikkei Reverses Course

Japanese markets closed lower Wednesday, while the U.S. dollar is lower against the Japanese yen.

Tokyo's Nikkei index lost just over one percent to finish at 8,640, wiping out gains made early in the day's trading.

In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 76.49 yen, a loss of nearly two-tenths of a yen from Tuesday.

Gold is trading at $1,853.85 an ounce.
