Japan’s Nikkei Reverses Course

Japanese markets closed lower Wednesday, and the U.S. dollar is lower against the Japanese yen.

Tokyo's Nikkei index lost just over one percent to finish at 8,640, wiping out gains made early in the day's trading.

In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 76.62 yen, a loss of a fraction of a yen from Tuesday.

The Taipei market ended the day at 7,503, a loss of just over six-tenths of one percent .
