Police in Indonesia say they have arrested two men who allegedly tried to hijack a train headed for Jakarta from the east on the island of Java.

Authorities said the incident took place early Saturday when three men on the train threatened the engineer. Reports did not elaborate on where the men wanted the train to go.

The engineer did not comply with their demands and instead secretly alerted law enforcement. Police met the train at its next stop and arrested two of the would-be hijackers. The third escaped and remains at large.
