Landslide Kills 23 in Eastern Uganda

A landslide in eastern Uganda has killed at least 23 people after heavy rains fell on the area.

The Red Cross said Monday the landslide happened in Mabono and another village in Bulambuli district, about 230 kilometers northeast of the capital, Kampala.

A spokeswoman said so far workers have recovered 15 bodies, but have confirmed at least eight other deaths.
