South African police say one of the country's most wanted criminals is back in custody, weeks after escaping from a Pretoria courthouse.

Police say they arrested Bongani Moyo late Sunday after finding him sitting in a car in Johannesburg with two other people.

He is set to appear Monday at a Pretoria court to face charges in connection with 35 bank robberies.

Moyo disappeared from a courthouse prior to a hearing on August 10, and previously escaped prison before being arrested after a highly publicized manhunt in May.
