At least seven people have been killed in bombings in Grozny, the capital of Russia's Chechnya region.
Officials say a suspect blew himself up when police tried to arrest him in central Grozny. There was a second blast minutes later. All those killed except one were policemen.
At least 16 people were wounded.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombings.
The Kremlin is still struggling to contain an Islamist insurgency in the North Caucasus.
