European stock prices are higher in midday trading Wednesday.
London’s Financial Times index is up nearly 1 percent. The CAC 40 in Paris is trading up about 1.5 percent, and trading on the DAX index in Frankfurt is up more than 1.1 percent.
In New York, the S&P futures contract is up 10 points, indicating a higher opening.
Tokyo’s Nikkei index gained just a fraction of 1 percent to finish at 8,955.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose more than 1.6 percent to finish the day’s trading at 20,535.
Gold is trading at $1,830.88 an ounce, down $4.65.
The dollar is mixed in trading against other major currencies.
